Buena Mulata
C. Annuum
80,000 – 100,000 SHUA super stunning and rare variety that has us mesmerized. Just look at those colours. The fruit undergo a colour change from deep eggplant purple to pastel orange and finally to red – pods growing to a length of around 6-8cms. William Woys Weaver introduced this pepper from his grandfather’s collection. His grandfather received the pepper from African-American folk artist Horace Pippin in 1944. The plant itself grows to around 2 foot tall and has beautiful purple striated stems with purple-white striped flowers. We recommend eating it red where it becomes sweet like a usual cayenne. It’s perfect, we think, for pickling or chopping up in your favourite fiery dish. Best of all though the Buena Mulata looks amazing in the garden and will have all of your friends wanting to grow one too.

CGN 21500
C. Chinense
10,000 – 30,000 SHUMost hard core chilli heads will by now have heard of the CGN 21500. The CGN classification system for chilli varieties indicates an accession from the genebank at Wageningen in the Netherlands.
It’s originally from Brazil and must have some heritage with the Roxa type. It is very sweet and juicy and has a fruity and delicate flavour. Although quite mild in heat, it is very highly regarded amongst chilli lovers and is probably the most well known of the CGN types. We have never heard anything but good reports about this great chilli. It is very plentiful on the plant and goes great in a salad. Grow it! You will love it!
