Barbara’s Antipodes
C. Anuum x C. Chinense
Unknown SHUBarbara’s Antipodes may be one of the most versatile chillies ever! It is the unusual but deliberate cross of a Sweet Bell Pepper and a Bhut Jolokia. It was bred by Florian Hauch in Germany back in 2007. Since then he has grown it to at least F11 so it’s completely stable. Florian generously gave some of his seeds exclusively to us at Chilli Seedz. We would say it tastes like a really good Capsicum, sweet and juicy with a really good mellow punch of heat. To put it short, it’s brilliant! Salads, stir fry and, being about one third the size of a big capsicum, is great for stuffing. The possibilities are endless and you guys are going to be the first in Australia to have it! Germination rate is down a little, about 70%. Still great!

BBG x Aji Jobito
C. Chinense
100,000 – 200,000 SHUOh yeah a chilli cross to get pretty darn excited about. With the flavour of the fruity Aji Jobito this one is tainted with the searing heat of a 7 Pot. In particular the famous 7 Pot Bubblegum. We sourced this from the United States and couldn’t be happier. Smooth and shiney with a colour we can only describe as pinky, peachy orange. It is a new chilli hybrid cross so is not fully stable. We will definately be growing this again soon but now you can too…

Beaver Dam
C. Annuum
1000 – 2000 SHUThe Beaver Dam pepper is a Hungarian heirloom variety and was brought to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1912 by the Hussli family. It produces large amounts of mild to medium heat, horn shaped fruit on compact plants and they can grow up to 150mm long! They have a sweet, dynamic pepper flavour with a slow-building heat. We really like this one for your every day chilli and the kids will love it too! Perfect for stuffing, in traditional goulash, sliced in a salad, on a burger or for awesome pickled peppers. This chilli is extremely well known in the U.S. There is even a “Beaver Dam” Festival! It’s about time we spread the SWEET pepper goodness!

Bellingrath Gardens
C. Annuum
50,000 – 75,000 SHUAnother wonderful black ornamental chilli named in honor of Alabama’s famous garden. Foliage is variegated with colours of green, purple and black and it has iridescent purple flowers. Its a super sturdy plant with amazing yields. Not a great one to eat but it attracts birds to the garden like you wouldn’t believe. The Bellingrath Gardens fruit are pendent in shape and ripen from purple-black to green-red. It grows to just over half a meter tall and the fruit are around 3cms long by 1.5cms wide.

Bengal Naga Peach
C. Chinense
600,000 – 800,000 SHUWhoa this is a thing to behold. It’s said to originate as an off-type plant in a greenhouse full of Bhut Jolokia, but outside this its a mystery to us. The Bengal Naga Peach has wrinkled skin and can be quite twisty. Flavor wise they are sweet as superhots go and deliver a fruity taste that breaks through the savage heat. We love how this one looks but you be the judge if it takes your fancy.

Berry Amarillo
C.Baccatum
10,000-30,000 SHUOne of the few berry type chilli peppers around of Baccatum family. This is definately one of our favourites due to the awesome sweet fruity and citrusy flavour. It packs a little heat but not too much. Did we mention it looks good too…

Berry Amarillo Round
C.Baccatum
10,000-30,000 SHUThere seems to be two types of the Berry Amarillo and we believe this one is just as stable as the original one we grew. The round version has a similar flavour profile to the original but is much juicier given it’s plumpness. It is also more yellow than orange and we think it looks very cool. Sweet and fruity it is perfect on a pizza and would be a great chilli sauce contender. Pods grow to about 3cm wide and 3cm long and the plant is one of those gangly ones that needs a good staking to hold the copious amount of fruit it produces. Just another great baccatum to fall in love with. Definitely one we will continue to grow and enjoy as a milder chilli option.

Bhut Orange Copenhagen
C. Chinense
500,000-800,000 SHUThis is definitely one of our favorites. This superhot chilli pepper was developed in Denmark. The Bhut Orange Copenhagen, or BOC is a hybrid pepper based on the Bhut Jolokia/Naga (Ghost Pepper) family. Unlike the the Bhut Jolokia, this hybrid is less hot and more fruity sweet – a flavor combination that more and more people are falling in love with.

Bido Tecana
C. Chinensis
20,000 – 40,000 SHUFrom a small village on the banks of the Rio Beni in Brazil comes the Bido Tecana! These large, thick walled chillies are quite sweet and juicy. The heat range seems to vary quite a lot and ours are not what we would call hot. They would certainly make great poppers! A great meduim sized bush that would go well on the balcony.

Big Black Mama
C. Chinense
Approx. 1,000.000 SHU
The Big Black Mama comes from the renowned super chilli grower/developer Troy Primo (USA). It is a cross between the Naga Morich and Trinidad Douglah and from our taste tests it is painfully close to being the hottest we have ever tried. Absolutely blistering hot! So what does it taste like – It tastes like molten lava with no sweetness or fruitiness. If you can taste anything past the heat we take our hat off to you. Watch Bill Moore’s review to see what we mean. We have grown about 6 plants to maturity and get the same pheno as seen in the pics but it’s not completely stable as of yet.

Big Caramel Mama
C. Chinense
Approx. 600,000 – 800,000 SHU
It’s big it’s caramel, WHAT, WAIT another Big Mama colour. Oh yes and its just as melt your socks off hot as the others. The Big CARAMEL Mama is the caramel variant of the Big Black Mama that was bred by Troy Pimeaux. No idea who found this variation growing in their chilli patch but it is a very impressive hardy plant plant that keeps on giving. The fruit are massive at 6-7cms long by 3-4cms wide turning from green to, you guessed it, caramel. If you have the other colours in the Mama range then we think you also need to get your hands on this one.
