Naranja Picante
C.Baccatum
80,000 – 100,000 SHUWith its blinding bright orange colour the Naranja Picante is a stand out in the garden. It’s a variety created by Pepperlover’s who claim this is one of the hottest Baccatums around. When ripened to bright orange, the taste resembles a real orange/citrus flavour, of course with a sharp sweet bite of heat. It has a very unique overall taste profile that’s hard to describe. The plant is a bit gangly but with a sturdy stake you will get hundreds of pods to make a great tasting sauce, powder of salt. Pods start green and grow to approximately 4cms long. Orange is the new Black so get a hold of this rare tasty chilli pepper.

Orange Brazilian Starfish
C. Baccatum
8,000 – 10,000 SHUWell hello! What an amazing chilli this one is. Forget the yellow or red version the Orange Brazilian Starfish is pretty close to being the best variety. With the same flavour profile of the red and yellow we can say the orange hits new heights for freshness and sweetness. Again heat wise it is the same as a Jalapeno but the taste is more complex and fresh. With a tangerine apple flavour overall this one is simply a winner all round. Perfect in a mixed salad but even better eaten straight from the chilli plant.

Pimenta Barra Do Ribeiro Baccutum
C. Baccutum
5,000 – 15,000 SHUPimenta Barra do Ribeiro was a great surprise for us. What a wonderful plant! It’s a great one from Brazil and is still quite rare. The way it just keeps producing is outstanding and continues to do so for many months of the year. Not only is it one of the most spectacular chillies you could have in a pot, they taste excellent too! Sweet and crunchy with a little heat as well, you will find it almost impossible not to eat them straight off the bush! Don’t miss this one!

Pumpkin Cili
C.Baccatum
2,000-5,000 SHURare and exclusive…We grew this one from seeds from our good friend Alice Lennard – a chilli queen in her own right. It’s beautiful to say the least and it tastes just as good as it looks. It starts off a ripening to purple then slowly to a bright red if your are patient. The origins of this one are obscure and the most information we have is that it was originally purchased from a local market overseas. Sweet and spicy as a cayenne but definitely not as hot. Very limited stock on this beauty.

Red Brazilian Starfish
C.Baccatum
5,000-30,000 SHUThe Brazilian Starfish is a much sort after variety of chilli pepper and is a very unusual due to its uniquely shaped pods. It can be as hot as 30,000 SHU but mostly comes in the lower heat range. The Brazilian Starfish is a tall growing plant and has a vine like habit. It produces very good yields of 2cm long by 4cm wide starfish-shaped pods that are very mild in heat.
The chilli pepper matures from green to red in around 70-90 days after transplanting. The white flowers of this plant are also very attractive with the very distinctive Baccatum greenish-yellow markings. As it’s name indicates, this highly sought after comes originally from Brazil. The unique shape of these chilli peppers make them an awesome addition to your chilli pepper collection and garden. It can be quite cold resistant and is quite prolific during the hotter months. Flavour wise it is a bit fruity and sweet some saying it has a hint of apple flavour.

Rocotillo Red
C.Baccatum
1,500 – 2,500 SHUSort of like a Bishops Crown in shape and size, the rocotillo chilli pepper is a nice mild variety that is especially sweet – One of the sweetest peppers we have tried. This one is quite rare and well worth growing for something different. It also has a very different and interesting leaf vein structure that makes it stand out in the garden. The rocotillo would be excellent in salsa or in your favorite Mexican dish.

Tepin x Lemon Drop
C. Annuum
Aprox. 80,000 SHUA little tear drop shaped treasure to behold. This one is a curious cross between a Tepin and Aji Lemon Drop. We think this one is now 6th generation so pretty close to being stable. Another super prolific variety that we just love the flavour of. Would make a beautiful chutney or jam given its sweet thick walled flesh. Oh and for you lazy gardeners its super easy maintenance so long as you keep it hydrated. Plant is relatively compact and grows to around 60cms tall.
