Black Naga
C. Chinense
Approx 700,000 – 800,000 SHUThis is the very cool rare Chocolate version of the King Naga. More chocolate coloured than black this monster sized beauty does turn a very dark shade of brown that gives it a black like sheen. Like other Nagas this one originates from Bangladesh and is similar in flavour profile to the more common chocolate Bhut Jolokia. Seemingly very productive it has a brutal sweet heat. The true stability of this variety is unknown because not many have grown it. You could possibly get a red or orange King Naga surprise pod but it is not likely. It has the usual chinense plant growing profile and is a great one for your chocolate chilli collection. What is it good for? – well like all superhots it makes a great blistering sauce or is just another killer to brag to your mates about…

Black Panther
C. Chinense
1,100,000 – 1,500,000 SHUThe Black Panther!!! Have you ever been smacked full on in the face with a flaming baseball bat?…Me either, but I bet it feels just like eating a Black panther! It is a cross of the Pimenta de Neyde and Bhut Jolokia. We really were not expecting the savage heat that it delivers and a lot of hard core chilli lovers we know have been caught off guard as well! It also has very good flavour, just like a Bhut does. It’s a very prolific producer as well so in our minds ticking all the boxes so far. The Black Panther is one of the better crosses for the year and so new in Australia, you will be the only one in your area to have it!. It will make some awesome hot chilli powder and sauce!

While she is not quite as hot, she is still very nasty. A bit like the ex girlfriend you cheated on. Go on, Take the challenge, compare the two. You will probably regret because she will still try to kill you but what chillihead doesn’t love that challenge! I know we do!

BOC X Primo (Orange)
C. Chinense
Approx 180,000 – 250,000 SHUWell hello! A cross originally created some years ago by Paul Willet. White Hot Peppers grew the plant which we are told was originally red. Bryan Townshend then found a few new phenotypes and this orange version is we think one of the best. Lacking in the usual chinense floral undertones the BOC x Primo Orange is fruitier but most importantly just as hot. Get your hands on this rare one. Limited stock. This is one we will be growing again. Super productive plant that would be great with anything from sauces to chilli powder.

Bolivian Bumpy
C. Chinense
150,000 – 200,000 SHUThis one is as pretty as a picture and is the result of crossing the Bolivian Rainbow (c. annuum) and the Yellow Bumpy (c. chinense). The pods turn bright yellow and display some lovely purplish/coppery tones on their way to ripening. Pod size is 3cm long and 1.5cms wide on average. It grows very compact and bushy and would go well even in a small pot. The pods have a very fruity aroma and a delicious citrusy flavour.

Bonda Ma Jacques
C. Chinense
250,000 – 350,000 SHUAfter tasting our first Bonda Ma Jacques we thought we’d died and gone to heaven. It’s one of the most citrus tasting chillies we’ve had. Almost like orange rinds with a bit of sweetness and tang. They have an amazing tropical aroma and are definitely hotter than the average habanero. This one’s a relatively rare habanero variety originating from the French Antilles and is quite prolific and easy to grow particularly in warmer climates. Bonda Ma Jacques fruit grow to about 2-3cms wide and 6-8cms long with a slight tapering end point. We absolutely love this one.

Brazilian Ghost Pepper
C. Chinense
800,000 – 1,00,000 SHUCrazy Cross chillies have grown on us and we have decided to add a few for people to try. The Brazilian Ghost Pepper is however one that is mostly stable. Feel very lucky if you get a variation because with this one we predict it will be super cool. The Brazilian Ghost is a 3 way cross hybrid between Bhut Jolokia x 7 Pot Douglah x Trinidad scorpion but who’s going to remember that. You will however remember the heat, as it’s another blistering Superhot that is definitely not for the kiddies. Created by Jose Renato from Brazil it is a beautiful shiny chocolate colour with the pods growing to a point at 5-6cms long and 3-4cms wide. One for the chilli collectors out there for sure.

Cabaca Roxa
C. Chinense
Approx. 80,000 – 120,000 SHUOne of the most photogenic chillies you can have in the garden – we just love the look of the Cabaca Roxa. This is one of the Roxa varieties which are just so beautiful and cutesy due to their unique colouring and shapes. The Cabaca Pepper is quite a compact plant with dark green/purple foliage – producing fruit that start purple and go a vibrant then deep red. Pods are small and on average measure 1.5cm long and 1cm wide. Taste wise they’re hard to describe but very pleasant with a tangy sharp sweetness.
