Chenzo – Purple
C.Frutescens
Approx 45,000 SHUWell what do we have here!…a Purple Chenzo. One that we grew that threw out purple instead of the initial black coloured fruit. Terribly cute this one is hard to beat as an easy growing, hardy and super prolific variety. The pods are 2-3 cm long and 0.5 cm wide and look awesome as they fill the bush with purple/green/matte orange and fire engine red fruit. It has a compact umbrella canopy growing habit getting to approximately 1 foot tall. PRETTY and TASTY this one is perfect for patio growing.

Chocolate Reaper
C. Chinense
Approx 1,500,000 – ??? SKUWell here it is a new favourite of ours. A chocolate colour variation to the infamous Carolina Reaper. The Chocolate Reaper is just like the red version with the long stinger tail. It has a very strong floral aroma, similar to the red variety but with a hint of a smoky type taste up front. Not fully stable yet the Chocolate Reaper is one you can grow out and see how good a stinger tail you can get. We liked it best as a powder. Its one to show off in your chilli patch for sure!

Costa Rica Orange
C. Frutescens
Approx 100,000-150,000 SHUWe got seeds of this beauty from THSC as a natural variant of the Red Chilli Costa Rica. If you love chillies that stand out in the garden then this is one for you. It has deep dark black/green foliage with the leaves turning darker the more sun it gets. The pods are almost a fluorescent orange which contrasts amazingly with the black leaves. Just a stunner. Size wise the plant grows incredibly compact to around 60-70cms with the pods 2-3cm wide and long. Despite being more an ornamental the flavour is salty and tangy and we think it would make an interesting vibrantly coloured chilli powder.

Ghost Bhut Jolikia
C. Chinense
1,000,000 – 1,100,000 SHUThe Ghost Bhut Jolokia, Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Chilli has been around for quite a while and is very popular and well respected. It was the Hottest in the world in 2007 as well as the first chilli ever to rate over 1 million SHU. It is still held in high regard when it comes to flavour and is still a favorite of many hard core chilli heads (us included). It is commonly used in most great commercial chilli sauces and powders. If you have ever had hot chilli sauce that makes you want to rip your tongue from your head and beat it with a stick, chances are it was made with Ghost chillies!

Habajig
C.Chinense
800,000 – 1,000,000 SHUThe Habajig is a crazy cross we got from a friend and we don’t know much about it except it is a cross between a Hab Big Sun and a Fatalii Gourmet Jigsaw. The pods are ginormous at about palm size and they are burn your eyebrows off hot. If you are one of those people who love to grow unstable crosses this one at around F4 may be enticing. The Habajig is a crazy good producer and is great made into chilli powder. Grow it just to see what interesting results you get.

Habalokia Peach Lavalamp
C. Chinense
Approx 350,000 – 500,000 SHUSeeds for this interesting one came from a friend and we have little information on it. We think it is possibly a cross between a habanero variety and the red lavalamp chilli. It may not be fully stable but that said we were so impressed with the look and flavour we thought we would share it. This interesting mutant cross grew like a beast and produced like crazy. Plant grew quite compact and was about 70cm tall potted. The pods average 3cm long by 2cm wide giving them a blocky like appearance. Flavour wise we think they have a sweet almost peachy like taste with a slow intense all over mouth burn. If you like your mutant crosses this is one for the collection.

Grown by Matthew Arthur, it is apparently a cross of 5 different chillies and a bit of a freak of nature! A crunchy, fruity and super hot pod as well as a tiny bit floral with an all over mouth burn. You will not forget this experience in a hurry! This one is still very hard to get so get it while you can!

Orange Frutgum
C.Chinense
500,000 – 650,000 SHUCollectors of rare and unusual chillies will love this one. The Orange Frutgum will astound and delight growers no matter how it produces. A relatively unstable chilli variety, this one is said to be a cross between a Purple Frutgum and an Orange Bubblegum. We obtained seeds from the one and only Alice Lennard who grows the most amazing chillies. Have a go at growing this one and see what you get. For us it was a delight of purple pods slowly turning to a stunning orange. It has an orange bleed up the stem making it a Bubblegum stand out. But don’t let it’s prettiness fool you, this one packs a punch when it comes to heat.

Orange Tiger
C. Chinense
600,000 – 800,000 SHUHere is another crazy cross called the Orange Tiger that is super cool looking particularly as it starts off a shimmery purple black before it turns a unique orange mustard. It’s a variety originally grown by Chris Fowler with parentage of a Pink Tiger x Unknown. We will keep growing this one and see how stable it really is but so far we are pretty happy with the results.

Pimenta Lisa – Fat Bullet
C. Chinense / Annuum
Approx 300,000 SHUThe Pimenta Lisa is an unstable cross between Pimenta de Neyde x White Habanero, the creator naming it after his daughter ‘LISA’. We don’t sell many varieties that haven’t proven themselves stable but this is one of the special exceptions. We fell in love with the colour, taste and shape – calling it fat bullet as that’s what we think it looks like. It has awesome foliage that is quite a number of shades of green with dark stems. The plant itself grows to less than a meter and the fruit go from vibrant deep dark peach to almost white. And wow what an fruity sweet aroma it gives off and the taste is actually peachy like. Even if yours doesn’t grow quite like ours we almost guarantee you will love the unpredictable results. Sometimes the fun of growing is in the surprises we get.
