Red Mushroom Variant
C. Annuum
Approx. 5,000 – 10,000 SHUWe got this one from a friend and was labelled as red mushroom. Despite growing more as a bell shape it had such a great sweet mild flavour we decided to share it and call it a red mushroom variant. Again another hardy easy maintenance one that pumps out hundreds of cute bell shaped pods that taste sensational. Grows quite compact and bushy with pod size 3-4cm wide x 3-4cm long. Sweet and crispy these go great in salads or for making an awesome mild salsa. We also think they would make a great base for a sweet chilli sauce.

Scarlett Non-Variegated
C. Annuum
Approx 5,000-10,000 SHUThe Scarlett chilli is an unstable cross between a Purple Tiger and a Jalapeno that we got from a friend. We grew the seeds and got two varieties one with variegated foliage and this one which turned out just as special. There’s a chance you will get the other stunning variegated version but if you do you will NOT be disappointed – it’s beautiful. This version has downward growing pods 6cm long and 2cms wide that start off black and transition to a bright red. We don’t sell many varieties that haven’t proven themselves stable but this is one of the special exceptions. The plant itself grows to less than a meter and the taste is sweet and remnant of the Jalapeno flavour. Even if yours doesn’t grow quite like ours we almost guarantee you will love the unpredictable results. Sometimes the fun of growing is in the surprises we get.

Scarlett Variegated
C. Annuum
Approx 5,000-10,000 SHUThe Scarlett chilli is a cross between a Purple Tiger and a Jalapeno that was originally bred by Graeme Chaplin in Western Australia. We have grown it out many times and it appears to be mostly stable. It’s truely maginificent to behold as it grows and the pods start their transformations. The green and white variegated foliage has splashes of Scarlett throughout and the pods start dark purple and transition through a range of stripey colours of violet, yellow, orange and red. This version has upward growing pods 3-4cm x 2cms in size. The Scarlett Chilli plant grows short and compact and is super easy growing. The taste is sweet and reminiscent of the Jalapeno flavour.

Trinidad Perfume Golden
C.Chinense
1,000 – 5,000 SHUThe Trinidad Perfume Golden is similar to the Trinidad Perfume we originally grew but it has a more intense golden colour and the pods start off deep dark green not light green. This one has a less potent perfume aroma and is a little bit sweeter and quite a bit hotter. Pods are 2cm long and 1.5cm wide on average and are a lovely pendant shape. Again we think this one would make an awesome chilli marmalade jam or give a nice aromatic zing to a salad or salsa.

Weapon X
C. Chinense
Approx 600,000 – 800,000 SHUBig, gnarly and mega hot the Weapon X is a cross from Western Australian grower Graeme Chaplin (Chappy). All that is known is that one of the parents are thought to be a Trinidad Scorpion Butch T. Interestingly the ones we grew in pots only grew to about 60cm tall and the pods were around 6cm x 4 cm. Good on you ‘Chappy’ this one is a ripper and quite sweet for a superhot. It’s stability is unknown so have a go and see what you get.

White Bhut Jolokia aka Ghost
C. Chinense
600,000 – 800,000 SHUWhat’s hot, spooky and just too damn sexy for the garden? – The White Ghost chilli of course. Apparently now a stable variation of the Red Ghost this one is almost as hot – ouch. Pods grow about 4-5cms long and turn from light green to an awesome almost translucent white. When you cut them open you get that super strong Bhut aroma and the fumes are enough to kill a herd of elephants. The heat hits almost immediately and travels quickly to the back of the throat. The White Ghost is definitely more mild and flavorful than the other Ghosts we have tasted. What more can we say get your hands on this beauty you wont be disappointed.
