Caysan
C. Annuum
Approx 20,000-40,000 SHUThis would have to be the classiest cayenne type pepper you can get. The Caysan has become one of the most sought after fresh market chilli varieties due to its consistent high quality, glossy appearance and excellent shelf life. The insanely vigorous plant provides good leaf cover with
continuous chilli production most of the year round – well at least in the tropics. The smooth thick walled fruit have a tapered shape and straight sides with excellent firmness at both dark green and mature red stages. Approx 12-14cm x 1.8-2cm in size this one is a must have for the kitchen as it is super versatile.10+ Seeds

Corno Di Toro
C.Annuum
0 – 500 SHUAlso known as the Bull’s Horn Chilli this is another super sweet pepper that grows to over 15cms in length. Given their size they are a great stuffing pepper but we adore them roasted or grilled as it brings out their tasty sweetness. Plant grows to a medium height and is a bit gangly so it does need a good stake to hold it up with its heavy fruit production. It has a hint of heat that lets you know your not just eating a juicy sweet capsicum.

Corona – Space Chilli (HJ 1)
C.Annuum
1,000 – 3,000 SHUYes it’s another Space Chilli – but holy hell this is a big one. The biggest we’ve grown so far at a whopping 25cms long by 3.5cm wide fully ripe. Bigger than a Big Jim that won awards for the biggest chilli ever. Something special must certainly happen in zero gravity to produce such monsters. Tastes sweet with enough heat to let you know it’s a chilli.
Check out our range of other Space Chillies here.
“For many decades work has been going on by the Chinese who have been sending seeds into orbit on satellites exposing them to zero gravity. It has become apparent that the trip into space is creating higher yields, bigger produce, and an increase in the levels of nutrients in the resulting fruit.”

Costa Rica Orange
C. Frutescens
Approx 100,000-150,000 SHUWe got seeds of this beauty from THSC as a natural variant of the Red Chilli Costa Rica. If you love chillies that stand out in the garden then this is one for you. It has deep dark black/green foliage with the leaves turning darker the more sun it gets. The pods are almost a fluorescent orange which contrasts amazingly with the black leaves. Just a stunner. Size wise the plant grows incredibly compact to around 60-70cms with the pods 2-3cm wide and long. Despite being more an ornamental the flavour is salty and tangy and we think it would make an interesting vibrantly coloured chilli powder.

Coyote Zan White
C. Chinense
60,000-100,000 SHUShaped like a little white fang the Coyote Zan White originates from Brazil with the pods growing to about 3-4cm long by 1.5cm wide. Not only does it look great it is extremely prolific and grows very compact. It has an umbrella canopy shaped growth habit making it perfect for easy maintenance small container growing. The pods start as light green, then turn to creamy white, and finally bright white. This variety has a very fruity aroma and taste profile with the heat 'very warming, not at all prickly or aggressive'. Has a strong Chinense flavour without bitterness and is popular for making homemade white hot sauce we are told.

Devils Brain Red
C. Chinense
Approx. 1,000,000 – 1,200.000 SHU
Another devilishly hot one. The Devils brain is a hybrid creation of the Brain Strain from Judy over at Pepperlover.com. We grew a few plants of this one and the pods colour and shape were very consistent. Meant to be up there with the Carolina Reaper heat level wise although it has a slow burn build up – so watch yourself with this sneaky one. Why it’s called the Devil’s Brain we can’t say but we love the name all the same.

Espelette
C.Annuum
4,000 – 5,000 SHUShe’s sleek and sexy and the French agree. Its held in high regard and vastly cultivated in the French commune of Espelette – where it gets it’s name. It is said to have originated from Central and South America and was introduced into France during the 16th century. Taste wise it is a winner for its peppery smooth sweetness. Pods get up to 10cms long and 3cms wide and the plants grows to just under a meter. We just love these fresh but imagine that they would be great eaten any old way. This is sure to be a family favourite as it’s mild enough for the kids.

Golden Greek Peperoncini
C. Annuum
Approx. 15,000 – 30,000 SHU
A fantastic flavoured mild chilli that gets its name from its golden green colour it has before ripening to a vibrant red. It is hugely popular in Italy as a pickling pepper due to its mildly piquant, fruity flavour. Eaten fully red the sweetness of this chilli bursts through leaving you wanting more. This one is a must have for the serious chilli connoisseur.

Golden Nugget
C. Annuum
20,000 – 30,000SHUWe knew this would be a good one before we even grew it and we were not disappointed. It’s from the USA but little else is known about the origin. This rare little gem is being used for pickling and drying and is apparently very good! Its amazing variegated foliage is extremely rare in the chilli world and adds to the appeal of this great ornamental. The fruit start green, then turn jet black before they ripen to gold with some amazing color changes in between. This chilli is a classic and is so beautiful you will want to hug it like you hug your dog dog!

Habalokia Peach Lavalamp
C. Chinense
Approx 350,000 – 500,000 SHUSeeds for this interesting one came from a friend and we have little information on it. We think it is possibly a cross between a habanero variety and the red lavalamp chilli. It may not be fully stable but that said we were so impressed with the look and flavour we thought we would share it. This interesting mutant cross grew like a beast and produced like crazy. Plant grew quite compact and was about 70cm tall potted. The pods average 3cm long by 2cm wide giving them a blocky like appearance. Flavour wise we think they have a sweet almost peachy like taste with a slow intense all over mouth burn. If you like your mutant crosses this is one for the collection.

Jimmy Nardello
C. Annuum
No HeatThe Jimmy Nardello, or The Jimmy Nardello Sweet Italian Frying Pepper, now its official name, is listed in the US Ark of Taste at Slow Food, the vegetable version of the endangered species list.
Giuseppe Nardiello and his wife, Angela set sail from the port of Naples in 1887 for a new life in America, Angela carried her one-year-old daughter Anna and a handful of the pepper seeds with them. They settled in Naugatuck, Connecticut, where they raised the peppers, and eleven children. The fourth one was a son named Jimmy and the legend grew from there. Frying peppers are something that has yet to be discovered properly, in Australia at least. They taste brilliant and you can put them with anything! We now have three of the world’s best “frying peppers” available to you. Just put frying peppers in the search bar!10+ seeds

Jumbo Jalapeno
C. Annuum
8,000 – 12,000 SHUIt’s a giant jalapeño! This one would certainly make whopper poppers. Also referred to as the ‘Numex Jalmundo’ this variety was developed at the New Mexico State University, (which creates all “NuMex” varieties of plants). The fruit have a smooth skin and very thick flesh, which makes them easier to stuff. They grow to around 6-7cm long and are hotter and sweeter than other Jalapeno varieties we have tried. We think everyone should grow a variety of Jalapeno as they are so versatile in the kitchen and just down right delicious. Most Numex Varieties have been bred to be more prolific and disease resistant so it makes sense to put this one on your grow list.
