Red Brazilian Starfish
C.Baccatum
5,000-30,000 SHUThe Brazilian Starfish is a much sort after variety of chilli pepper and is a very unusual due to its uniquely shaped pods. It can be as hot as 30,000 SHU but mostly comes in the lower heat range. The Brazilian Starfish is a tall growing plant and has a vine like habit. It produces very good yields of 2cm long by 4cm wide starfish-shaped pods that are very mild in heat.
The chilli pepper matures from green to red in around 70-90 days after transplanting. The white flowers of this plant are also very attractive with the very distinctive Baccatum greenish-yellow markings. As it’s name indicates, this highly sought after comes originally from Brazil. The unique shape of these chilli peppers make them an awesome addition to your chilli pepper collection and garden. It can be quite cold resistant and is quite prolific during the hotter months. Flavour wise it is a bit fruity and sweet some saying it has a hint of apple flavour.

Red Fatalii
C. Chinense
Approx 350,000 – 500,000 SHUThe Fatalii is one of the few Chinense chillies with origins in Africa – the Congo to be more specific. If you’re a fan of the original yellow fatalii then we guarantee you will LOVE the rarer red natural variant version. It has a slightly tangier sweeter flavour than the yellow and the pods are a bit shorter and fatter. This strain is close to being 100% stable but there’s a tiny chance you will get a random yellow or even orange coloured fruit pop up. The plant is quite stocky for a Chinense variety and the pods are on average between 5-6 cm long and about 3cm wide. It is ‘pretty’ hot and like the yellow version it has a heat that jumps around the mouth before it quickly dissipates. Tremendously fruity and citrusy we think its just perfect for a tangy chilli sauce.

Red Mushroom Variant
C. Annuum
Approx. 5,000 – 10,000 SHUWe got this one from a friend and was labelled as red mushroom. Despite growing more as a bell shape it had such a great sweet mild flavour we decided to share it and call it a red mushroom variant. Again another hardy easy maintenance one that pumps out hundreds of cute bell shaped pods that taste sensational. Grows quite compact and bushy with pod size 3-4cm wide x 3-4cm long. Sweet and crispy these go great in salads or for making an awesome mild salsa. We also think they would make a great base for a sweet chilli sauce.

Scarlett Non-Variegated
C. Annuum
Approx 5,000-10,000 SHUThe Scarlett chilli is an unstable cross between a Purple Tiger and a Jalapeno that we got from a friend. We grew the seeds and got two varieties one with variegated foliage and this one which turned out just as special. There’s a chance you will get the other stunning variegated version but if you do you will NOT be disappointed – it’s beautiful. This version has downward growing pods 6cm long and 2cms wide that start off black and transition to a bright red. We don’t sell many varieties that haven’t proven themselves stable but this is one of the special exceptions. The plant itself grows to less than a meter and the taste is sweet and remnant of the Jalapeno flavour. Even if yours doesn’t grow quite like ours we almost guarantee you will love the unpredictable results. Sometimes the fun of growing is in the surprises we get.

Super Nova – Space Chilli (HJ 7)
C.Annuum
4,000 – 5,000 SHUOh how we love the Space Chillies and this one is no exception. Again as for all the Space Chillies it’s just the most prolific producer of pods you can get. The fruit grow up to 10cms in length and are a bit twisty in shape. Ripening to a bright red they taste great and are sweet and crunchy with a very mild level of heat.
“For many decades work has been going on by the Chinese who have been sending seeds into orbit on satellites exposing them to zero gravity. It has become apparent that the trip into space is creating higher yields, bigger produce, and an increase in the levels of nutrients in the resulting fruit.”

Swiss Chocolate
C. Chinense
At a guess…350,000 – 400,000 SHURaphael Alber has created a few amazing varieties but this is by far one of our favorites. Obviously this one is a cross but with what is still a bit of a mystery. It doesn’t matter because this one is a winner for taste and looks. It’s hard to describe the flavour but there are hints of berry / cinnamon undertones. Better than any other chocolate chilli variety we’ve tasted. It gives a very pleasant all over mouth burn and subjectively seems around the habanero heat level. Pods look great and start out a dark olive green with grooves before ripening to a unique matt chocolate finish. Would be sensational powdered we think and we will be drying ours for sure. Can’t recommend this one enough.

Tabasco
C.Annuum
30,000 – 50,000 SHUWhy not make your own Tabasco sauce with these little zingers. Tabasco chillies are extremely prolific with the pods maturing from green to yellow, and finally red. The plant grows to just over a meter tall but would go well as a patio plant if pruned right. Native to the Mexican state of Tabasco, the peppers are commonly used to infuse vinegar and are also the primary ingredient of the famous Tabasco sauce. They are tangy spicy but not killer hot as peppers go. Super easy to grow and colourful in the garden.

Trinidad Perfume Golden
C.Chinense
1,000 – 5,000 SHUThe Trinidad Perfume Golden is similar to the Trinidad Perfume we originally grew but it has a more intense golden colour and the pods start off deep dark green not light green. This one has a less potent perfume aroma and is a little bit sweeter and quite a bit hotter. Pods are 2cm long and 1.5cm wide on average and are a lovely pendant shape. Again we think this one would make an awesome chilli marmalade jam or give a nice aromatic zing to a salad or salsa.

Turkish Sweet Green
C. Annuum
Approx. 30,000 – 60,000 SHUSweet Green pepper in Turkish = Yeşil Tatlı Biber. Like most Turkish Peppers this one is sweet, long, crunchy and super prolific. It is said to be among the most used sweet pepper in Turkey and can be found in most rural villagers’ backyards. Given it’s sweetness it is used mostly fresh but we think it makes a very versatile chilli in the kitchen. It has the most magnificent dark green colour which when ripe turns an even more stunning shiny red. Grows quite short so good for small pots and balcony’s.

Yellow Brazilian starfish
C. Baccatum
8,000 – 10,000 SHUWe love the Yellow Brazilian Starfish. While it doesn’t have much heat at all, around the same as a Jalapeno, the taste is great. The first thing you can taste is apples. It is thick walled and crunchy, also very prolific! The little heat it does have presents itself as almost “fizzy”. Its very unusual! These are great tossed into a salad. Although still rare, its one of the best mild chilies ever!
