7 Pot Congo SR Gigantic Brown
C. Chinense
Approx. 1,000,000 SHUThe 7 Pot Congo SR Gigantic Brown. That’s quite a mouthful and so is this great chilli! The pods from this bush are very large and very prolific. With that usual rich and earthy flavour that a lot of the brown super hots have, it will be more than enough for warming your food up to the level of “Am I the only one mad enough to eat this?” So with all the pods you have left over you can make your amazing chilli powder to amuse your friends…. Fun for almost everyone! This chilli is still quite rare and we are lucky enough to be one of a very few that have it.

Aji Amarillo
C. Baccatum
Aprox. 30,000 – 50,000 SHUWhat a flavour sensation this one is…The Aji Amarillo pepper is literally named “yellow chilli pepper” and is grown extensively in Peru. The fruit have a thick skin and grow to approximately 15cms long and 2cms wide. Not too hot as chillies go this one balances heat with an awesome fruity flavour reminiscent of mango and passion-fruit. You have to taste it to believe it. This one makes a great paste but is terrific in sweet curries. The Aji Armarillo is also super easy to grow and pumps out lots and lots of fruit over its long growing season.

Aji Fantasy Peach
C. Baccatum
5,000 – 10,000 SHUThe Aji Peach Fantasy is probably our favourite Fantasy variety for taste. We think it has a real mellow melon flavour. Ours didn’t grow very star shaped but it was very sweet with a mild bite at the placenta like the other Aji Fantasy varieties. It has thick juicy flesh with a great crunch making it great to eat straight off the plant. The fruit start a translucent white then slowly ripen to peach. The bush does not grow large so it would be excellent in a patio pot. It sets masses of fruit for most of the year and did we mention it LOOKS GREAT Too.

Aji Melocoton Yellow
C. Baccatum
Approx. 10,000 – 30,000 SHUWhat do we have here, a yellow Aji Melocoton. First ever that we know of… Melocoton means peach in spanish so we should really call this one Aji Melocoton aka Amarillo. You can’t go wrong with baccatum’s for flavour and this one is very citrusy sweet with slight lemon undertones. Originally created by Judy at Pepperlover why not be one of the first to grow the yellow variety. The plant grows tall and gangly, needing a good staking in its first year. Super prolific with non seedy fruit that change from green to a lovely yellow. We have grown it out twice and gotten the yellow variety each time but who knows you may even get another surprise colour.

8,500 – 10,000 SHU Aprox.
Well again we have a interesting cool variety that clearly is shaped like its name – the Aji Peanut chilli pepper. A very uncommon baccatum variety we came across that got our attention. The mature fruits look quite like a peanut shell and are deep red in colour. Hot enough to get your attention with the plant growing a bit gangly at 60-80cms tall. Take your time to warm to this one but be assured it’s a great producer and easy maintenance. We recommend you give it a crack.

Barbara’s Antipodes
C. Anuum x C. Chinense
Unknown SHUBarbara’s Antipodes may be one of the most versatile chillies ever! It is the unusual but deliberate cross of a Sweet Bell Pepper and a Bhut Jolokia. It was bred by Florian Hauch in Germany back in 2007. Since then he has grown it to at least F11 so it’s completely stable. Florian generously gave some of his seeds exclusively to us at Chilli Seedz. We would say it tastes like a really good Capsicum, sweet and juicy with a really good mellow punch of heat. To put it short, it’s brilliant! Salads, stir fry and, being about one third the size of a big capsicum, is great for stuffing. The possibilities are endless and you guys are going to be the first in Australia to have it! Germination rate is down a little, about 70%. Still great!

Black Ghost
C.Chinense
Unknown SHUThis variety is a cross between the Red Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Chilli and the Pimenta De Neyde from Brazil. Our friends over in Italy have been working hard to stabilize this one and you get to try it out ALREADY. Still expect some variations but you will definitely have some fun with this one. This Black Ghost we grew started black and changed to a shimmery green then vibrant red. Pods had quite a De Neyde length and roundness to them but with at least 10 times the heat. The sweetness surprised us and it was absent of any of that floral taste we hate. Our plants got to about 4 Foot tall and loaded itself with fruit, powering away even over our mild winter months. You might like to try this beauty yourself but be warned you will probably fall in love with it.
