Moruga Scorpion Yellow
C. Chinense
Approx 800,000 – 1,000,000 SHUIf you love the Trinidad Moruga Red then we think you will love the yellow variety even more. From what we have been told it’s a natural occurring variant of the Moruga Red being slightly sweeter with a definite citrusy tang to it(if you can taste this past the heat that is). Of the all the superhots the flavour of this one is a standout. Pod size is respectable but a tad smaller than the red variety. A special one for the serious chilli head – so what are you waiting for :-).

Naranja Picante
C.Baccatum
80,000 – 100,000 SHUWith its blinding bright orange colour the Naranja Picante is a stand out in the garden. It’s a variety created by Pepperlover’s who claim this is one of the hottest Baccatums around. When ripened to bright orange, the taste resembles a real orange/citrus flavour, of course with a sharp sweet bite of heat. It has a very unique overall taste profile that’s hard to describe. The plant is a bit gangly but with a sturdy stake you will get hundreds of pods to make a great tasting sauce, powder of salt. Pods start green and grow to approximately 4cms long. Orange is the new Black so get a hold of this rare tasty chilli pepper.

NuMex Pinata
C. Annuum
45,000 – 50,000SHUWhat a colourful Jalapeno type chilli this one is. It has all the colours of the sunset as it ripens with a hint of corking. It turns from green to yellow, to orange and finally red when ripe and it looks amazing as it makes its colour transformation. You could say it’s a multicoloured Jalapeno with a touch more heat than it’s forebears. This one was developed at the New Mexico State University in 1997. Pods grow to approximately 6-8cm long and 3cm wide and are fat and juicy with a thick wall.
It is quite a compact bushy growing plant that grows to 2-3 foot tall. Being relatively mild in heat this one is great in salsas and even salads. We haven’t tried making poppers with them but we think they would be awesome eaten this way or just roasted on their own.

ODA Pepper
C. Annuum
SWEET 0 SHUThe ODA is one of the most beautiful chillies we have grown EVER…It is simply stunning with its colour transformations as it grows bigger and bigger to around 6cm x 8cms. Starting creamy white the fruit then turn a vibrant purple before ripening to a deep orange red. Plant wise the ODA is very small and compact considering the size of the peppers. So you can even grow them in medium sized pots with the right supply of nutrients. We found it super easy to grow and the peppers got real big, real fast. The fruit are thick-fleshed and mostly cone-shaped with an amazing sweet rich flavour. No heat to this one but who cares when it looks this good. A great replacement for your usual red capsciums for a tastier salad and/or stir fry.

Orange Apple
C. Chinense
3,000 – 5,000 SHUIt’s Orange and it’s apple shaped so we think that’s how this little cutie got it’s name. We love the perfect roundness the Habanero Orange Apple has together with its wonderful bright orange colour. Thick walled with a real crunch reminiscent of biting into a crisp summer apple. Mmmmm. Bursting with citrus fruity flavour the Orange Apple is great eaten straight from the bush or chopped over a pizza or salad. Fruit get to around 3cm wide by 3.5cm long with the plant growing like your typical chinense. With such a low heat level we reckon the kids will love this one too.

Orange Blob
C. Chinense
20,000 – 30,000 SHUOrange Blob…Seriously!! Although well known among serious Chilli lovers, it’s still an enigma! The Orange Blob is said to have descended from some Habanero types and the taste supports that. While it may have a name that only its mother could love and a shape which reminds you of that guy at the Gym you feel sorry for, It’s actually very good to eat! While not quite as hot as other habanero, it is a little sweeter! Go for it…don’t hold back ..Seriously….

Orange Brazilian Starfish
C. Baccatum
8,000 – 10,000 SHUWell hello! What an amazing chilli this one is. Forget the yellow or red version the Orange Brazilian Starfish is pretty close to being the best variety. With the same flavour profile of the red and yellow we can say the orange hits new heights for freshness and sweetness. Again heat wise it is the same as a Jalapeno but the taste is more complex and fresh. With a tangerine apple flavour overall this one is simply a winner all round. Perfect in a mixed salad but even better eaten straight from the chilli plant.

Orange Frutgum
C.Chinense
500,000 – 650,000 SHUCollectors of rare and unusual chillies will love this one. The Orange Frutgum will astound and delight growers no matter how it produces. A relatively unstable chilli variety, this one is said to be a cross between a Purple Frutgum and an Orange Bubblegum. We obtained seeds from the one and only Alice Lennard who grows the most amazing chillies. Have a go at growing this one and see what you get. For us it was a delight of purple pods slowly turning to a stunning orange. It has an orange bleed up the stem making it a Bubblegum stand out. But don’t let it’s prettiness fool you, this one packs a punch when it comes to heat.
