Farmers Market Jalapeno
C. Annuum
5,000 – 15,000 SHUThe Farmers Market Jalapeno is hands down the most unusual of the Jalapeno types. It is completely covered in “corking” which is why it is also known as the Potato Skin Jalapeno. It is wonderfully sweet and mild with that great Jalapeno warmth, and tastes just like a Jalapeno. It also grows quite large! The skin does not detract from the taste or texture at all; in fact, it adds an ever so slight earthy mushroom taste. These are still quite rare but there is no doubt that these will burst onto the chilli market soon enough and take the chilli world by storm! THEY ARE THAT GOOD!

Fushimi Pepper
C. Annuum
SHU NoneThe Fushimi Pepper are true frying peppers, something different in a very good way! These chillies are a traditional vegetable in Kyoto, Japan. Picked when green, they are usually rolled in good oil and salt and lightly fried. While they have no heat at all, the taste is truly amazing! We have three of these growing just to keep up to demand. They are also wonderful in tempura, a salad or even pickled! This one is a definite ‘YES’

Honeypeno
C. Annuum
3,000 – 5,000 SHUWell this is interesting – A Jalapeno type chilli pepper that has an apple/honey flavour. Mmmm Mmmm… Honeypeno what a great name too. This one was created by Pepperlover for extra sweetness. It is very mild in heat and can be used like all Jalapeno’s – poppers or pickled would be a good choice. Around the same size as a regular Jalapeno the Honeypeno is slightly more tapered at the bottom. We love it and we know you will too.

Krimzon Lee
C. Annuum
Aprox. 5,000 – 10,000 SHUBig, Beautiful and Bountiful are three words we would use to describe the Krimzon Lee. It’s thick fleshed, sweet and super big at around 20cm long and 5cms wide. The Krimzon Lee pepper is perfect roasted, fried, grilled and for making into a moderately spicy salsa. Grows around a meter high and even bigger in the ground but it will need good staking for support when it gets fruiting.

Malawi Piquante(Peppadew)
C. Baccatum
1,000 – 1,500 SHUWe are well pleased with this little beauty know as the peppadew in culinary circles. Technically ‘Peppadew’ is the trademarked brand name of sweet piquanté peppers originating in the Limpopo province of South Africa. It’s a low heat medium thick fleshed pepper that is very popular for pickling and stuffing. The flavour of the Peppadew fruit is quite sweet and it has a crunchy texture when eaten raw. It’s cute, its tasty and won’t kill you with heat – even the kids will love them. The Peppadew seems to do well in colder temperatures and when it gets going it produces a mega amount of fruit.

Malaysian Explosive Ember
C.Annuum
2,000-3,000 SHUThis version of the ornamental explosive ember is quite a bit different to the original variety most people know of. We got this variety from a friend and fell in love with it. It seems to be more compact and dainty than the original explosive ember ornamental chilli plant. The pods are smaller too, having more of a vibrant yet pastel colour to them. It’s super productive and when the pods get going it just lights up the garden like no other. Totally easy to grow and is low maintenance as well. This one should be on your short list for an ornamental type chilli that actually tastes pretty good as it’s not too seedy. Size wise the plant grows about 20cm tall x 20cm wide – perfect for the patio.
