Pseudonaja
C. Chinense
800,000 – 1.200,000 SHUThe Pseudonaja was created right here in Australia by the EACSE Face book admin team It is a cross between a Red Savina and a Red Bhut Jolokia. While being grown on here in Townville it turned from the original red to a chocolate colour. It was then that the page had a naming competition and it was named by James Raumaewa as the Pseudonaja! While not tested, its heat is at least that of the Bhut Jolokia. It has a great fruity smokey flavour making it perfect for something like a steak chilli sauce! It has inherited the shoulders of the red Savina and the taper of the Bhut which makes the shape quite unique and definitely an eye catcher!

Purple Bhut Jolokia
C.Chinense
800,000 – 1,000,000 SHUWe love the Bhut flavour but this one is an eye catcher with its purple pods. Pods start green and then turn purple before transforming into a vibrant red. It is a natural purple variant of the regular Bhut Jolokia.

Purple Ghost Scorpion
C.Chinense
SHU approx 1,000,000
The Purple Ghost Scorpion is a newish cross originating in Guam. It is the crossing of a Purple Ghost and the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T. An unusual thing about this chilli is that while the outside ripens to a deep red, the inside quite often remains a vibrant purple! We know of no other chilli that does this. It tastes quite fruity with no bitterness. The heat is about the same as a Ghost so it’s very hot! While not quite stable yet, we love it and will grow it again!

Purple Habanero
C. Chinense
200,000 – 300,000 SHUThe Purple Habanero is a rare one from the USA and is a great looking chilli. One of the few that starts from a pure white and matures through a light purple, then to a deep purple/ brown. It’s has that great fruity Habanero taste and a nice rounded heat. They are also very large and very productive. Probably one of the tastiest Habs!

Purple Pumpkin.
C.Chinense
350,000 – 450,000 SHUThe Purple Pumpkin is one of the best ornamentals there is. While most ornamental chillies are quite small, this one has quite large pods that hang on the bush for a long time while they go through the most amazing colour changes! They start green then turn purple and then finally red. As the colours change they get quite blotchy which make it really striking to look at! Not only does it look great it tastes nice and sweet! Subjectively we think it is about Hab heat. Looks good, tastes good. How can you go wrong?

We have been looking forward to this one for a long time and we know you guys have too! Ok, we know it’s not completely stable yet but that doesn’t mean it’s not fun to grow, right? Having said that, the pheno is surprisingly good and you will get a lot of great purple pods with awesome stingers which will eventually ripen to red. We know what you are thinking and YES, the Purple Reaper IS Unbelievably HOT! So hot we thought being burned at the stake would be a pleasant alternative. These will go fast so don’t miss out!

Red Fatalii
C. Chinense
Approx 350,000 – 500,000 SHUThe Fatalii is one of the few Chinense chillies with origins in Africa – the Congo to be more specific. If you’re a fan of the original yellow fatalii then we guarantee you will LOVE the rarer red natural variant version. It has a slightly tangier sweeter flavour than the yellow and the pods are a bit shorter and fatter. This strain is close to being 100% stable but there’s a tiny chance you will get a random yellow or even orange coloured fruit pop up. The plant is quite stocky for a Chinense variety and the pods are on average between 5-6 cm long and about 3cm wide. It is ‘pretty’ hot and like the yellow version it has a heat that jumps around the mouth before it quickly dissipates. Tremendously fruity and citrusy we think its just perfect for a tangy chilli sauce.

C.Chinense
200,000-350,000 SHURed Habanero chillies are one happy looking bunch. They have colourful skins that ripen from green to yellow and then orange to red as they mature. They are relatively small, shinny and have waxy skin. But as much as their looks are inviting, they are among the hottest chilli peppers commonly grown in the world. Incredibly fierce.

Royal Gold
C. Chinense
50,000 – 100,000 SHUThe Royal Gold chilli is a native of Peru and produces quite a lot of pods for a bush that is not very big! If that’s not enough, the fruit is sweet and hot and has a hint of passion fruit or apricot flavour! These are great for salsa and salad. Royal Gold would also make a really good powder. A very good chilli!
