Brazilian Ghost Pepper
C. Chinense
800,000 – 1,00,000 SHUCrazy Cross chillies have grown on us and we have decided to add a few for people to try. The Brazilian Ghost Pepper is however one that is mostly stable. Feel very lucky if you get a variation because with this one we predict it will be super cool. The Brazilian Ghost is a 3 way cross hybrid between Bhut Jolokia x 7 Pot Douglah x Trinidad scorpion but who’s going to remember that. You will however remember the heat, as it’s another blistering Superhot that is definitely not for the kiddies. Created by Jose Renato from Brazil it is a beautiful shiny chocolate colour with the pods growing to a point at 5-6cms long and 3-4cms wide. One for the chilli collectors out there for sure.

Cabaca Roxa
C. Chinense
Approx. 80,000 – 120,000 SHUOne of the most photogenic chillies you can have in the garden – we just love the look of the Cabaca Roxa. This is one of the Roxa varieties which are just so beautiful and cutesy due to their unique colouring and shapes. The Cabaca Pepper is quite a compact plant with dark green/purple foliage – producing fruit that start purple and go a vibrant then deep red. Pods are small and on average measure 1.5cm long and 1cm wide. Taste wise they’re hard to describe but very pleasant with a tangy sharp sweetness.

Carolina Reaper
C.Chinense
1,200,000-2,200,000 SHUThe Carolina Reaper is the mother of all super hot chillies. It has been rated as the world’s hottest chilli pepper by Guinness World Records since August 7, 2013. It averages 1,569,300 on the Scoville Scale with peak levels of over 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). The original crossbreed was between a Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper), a former world record holder, and a Red Habanero chilli pepper. For hardcore chilliheads this is the Holy Grail, the Head Honcho, the baddest, meanest ‘rip your throat out, tear your tongue off, smash you in the face with a half melted shovel’ chilli that has ever graced the face of the Earth. Get yourself a Carolina Reaper. You are mad if ya’ don’t!

CGN 21500
C. Chinense
10,000 – 30,000 SHUMost hard core chilli heads will by now have heard of the CGN 21500. The CGN classification system for chilli varieties indicates an accession from the genebank at Wageningen in the Netherlands.
It’s originally from Brazil and must have some heritage with the Roxa type. It is very sweet and juicy and has a fruity and delicate flavour. Although quite mild in heat, it is very highly regarded amongst chilli lovers and is probably the most well known of the CGN types. We have never heard anything but good reports about this great chilli. It is very plentiful on the plant and goes great in a salad. Grow it! You will love it!

Choc Bhut x 7 Pot Yellow
C. Chinense
1,000,000 aprox SHUThere are many hybrid Chillies being produced at the moment, but not a lot of them are as good as this. The Chocolate Bhut x Yellow 7 pot certainly stands out! It was crossed By Grant Hustler a few years ago and we were lucky enough to get it from a well-known grower in NSW. It has that great Naga flavour with no bitterness and an insane amount of heat! The pods are very large and elongated, typical of Bhut. This cross is practically stable and we feel this we be very popular in the near future!

Chocolate Bhut
C. Chinense
1,000,000 – 1,200,000 SHUWe love Bhuts, and we love chocolate! It makes sense that we especially love the Chocolate Bhut! The Bhut Jolokia is an Icon and the Chocolate Bhut is a great variation of it. It has that great heat we know and love and, although it doesn’t taste quite like chocolate, it has that great earthy, rich flavor that the brown chillies often have. We couldn’t fault this and can only imagine how great a steak sauce would taste made with this one!
