We have been waiting a while for this one! The Yellow Reaper! This yellow version of the Reaper really lives up to its predecessor. Maybe a little less bitter but at least as hot… So hot In fact, Our Lord Vulcan of the Chilli World can only eat one! The only time he keeps the toilet paper in the refrigerator…… The great thing is they are very productive too. If you are the type of person that needs to grow the most extreme hottest chillies in the World, this needs to be on your list!
Yellow Scotch Bonnet
200,000 – 350.000 SHU
The Scotch Bonnet goes by so many different names it can be quite confusing (AKA Bahamian, Bahama Mama, Jamaican Hot or Martinique Pepper). It got its name from resembling a Scot’s Bonnet and is one that tastes as good as it looks. This is the yellow version which has a slightly more citrus flavour than the red variety. It is closely related to the Habanero but is a bit sweeter with a smoother mouth burn. The fruit grow to approximately 2.5 cm wide and 4 cm long and the bush is quite compact, growing to over a meter. Originally from the Caribbean it is widely cultivated in Jamaica where it is extensively used in their cuisine.

What a little ripper of a producer the Yukari Bakan is. Its another great Turkish chilli variety that has an interesting nutty flavour with the typical stingy burn of the annuum types. Yukari means ‘Gift of God’ and Bakan means ‘overlooking’. It grows fairly compact with the fruit growing in unique little clusters. Pods dry well on plant without rotting if you get lazy like us with your picking. Pods grow upwards in bunches of 10-12 and ours turn from green to lilac and orange to finally a deep red. Plants are stunning when they get going and are a real stand out in the garden. We love to dry these for chilli flakes and powder.
