Unlike the the Bhut Jolokia, this hybrid is less hot and more fruity sweet – a flavor combination that more and more people are falling in love with.

Big Black Mama
C. Chinense
Approx. 1,000.000 SHU
The Big Black Mama comes from the renowned super chilli grower/developer Troy Primo (USA). It is a cross between the Naga Morich and Trinidad Douglah and from our taste tests it is painfully close to being the hottest we have ever tried. Absolutely blistering hot! So what does it taste like – It tastes like molten lava with no sweetness or fruitiness. If you can taste anything past the heat we take our hat off to you. Watch Bill Moore’s review to see what we mean. We have grown about 6 plants to maturity and get the same pheno as seen in the pics but it’s not completely stable as of yet.

Big Jim
C. Annuum
1000 – 3,000 SHUThe Numex Big Jim is another super sized chilli and is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the producer of the largest Chilli pods ever grown. Pods can get up to a foot long but on average grow to 25-30cms in size. The Big Jim plant grows quite small(70cms) considering its fruit size. The variety was developed in the mid 1970’s by Dr Nakayama as a result of a breeding program at the Chile Pepper Institute. Due to the pod size and mild heat the Big Jim is perfect for stuffing. Stuff them with your favorite plain or herbed cheese and add diced, cooked chicken or beef to create a Delicious mouth watering giant popper!!.

Black Ghost
C.Chinense
Unknown SHUThis variety is a cross between the Red Bhut Jolokia or Ghost Chilli and the Pimenta De Neyde from Brazil. Our friends over in Italy have been working hard to stabilize this one and you get to try it out ALREADY. Still expect some variations but you will definitely have some fun with this one. This Black Ghost we grew started black and changed to a shimmery green then vibrant red. Pods had quite a De Neyde length and roundness to them but with at least 10 times the heat. The sweetness surprised us and it was absent of any of that floral taste we hate. Our plants got to about 4 Foot tall and loaded itself with fruit, powering away even over our mild winter months. You might like to try this beauty yourself but be warned you will probably fall in love with it.
